Dojo Locations
We've locations throughout NSW, ACT, WA & QLD
- Dojo are classed as the following categories:
- So-Honbu (総本部) - World Headquarters (currently Taira Dojo in Okinawa).
- District Honbu (地区本部) - Branch headquarters for the country.
- Shibu/Kan (支部/館) - Official WMKA branch dojo.
- Kyoshitsu (教室) - Associate school/study group practising Matsubayashiryu under the supervision of a branch dojo.
- Classes are offered for two main groups Juniors (under 14s) and Seniors (over 14s). Each individual Dojo may offer different classes, so please see below for their specific details.
- Additionally, the dojo owner/head instructor of a branch dojo (shibu/kan) is referred to as Kancho (館長). All official dojo are members of the World Matsubayashi-ryu (Shorin-ryu) Karate-do Association and are under the guidance of President Yoshitaka Taira, and Vice-President Sensei Toshimitsu Arakaki, who are both Hanshi 10th Dan.
